Amadis Errázuriz (アマディス エラソーレース, Amadisu Erasōrēsu) and Oriana Errázuriz (オリアーナ エラソーレース, Oriāna Erasōrēsu), also operating under the names Yin (イン, In) and Yang (ヤン, Yan), are a set of Arrancar twins, made artificially through the Hōgyoku used by Sōsuke Aizen. As members of his army, they were the Trigésimo (30th) and Trigésimo Primera (31st) Números respectively.

Appearance[]

A pair of near-identical twins, they share much of their physical appearance. Both of them possesses clear aqua coloured eyes and prominent eyeshadow around them, in their signature colour (blue for Amadis, red for Oriana). They have soft, elegant facial features, such as small, sharp lips accentuated by lipstick, again in their trademark colour, and petite noses. The remnant of their Hollow mask resembles the roof of a headguard, running vertically over the middle of their head and terminating into a wide plate that covers their forehead, obscuring (in the case of Amadis) or pressing down (for Oriana) their bangs, as well as their eyebrows, which are very thin, almost needle-like in appearance. The forehead plate is arrayed with a row of large teeth, six in total that are almost entirely symmetrical. The curvature on this plate also helps distinguish the twins, Amadis' is wider and more straight, while Oriana's is shorter, possessing a sharper, more angular curve inward. The back of their Hollow mask possesses a small cylindrical protrusion that feeds into a spade-shaped dagger-like headpiece, with the tip pointing to the right. The left side is hollowed out and actually acts as a sheath for either twins Zanpakutō. When sheathed the Zanpakutō give the sister's a long side-tail look due to the long tassels that share their hair colour, attached to the pommel of either weapon. Additionally there is a serrated segment of arrowhead shaped plates that hang off the back of the headpiece, travelling a ways down their backs.

The main distinguishing feature for either twin, is their hairstyle. Amadis has long blue hair, tied up into two frontal braids by two oval-shaped adornments that reach down to her chest, while the rest of her hair fans out in a sort-of wolf cut. Oriana possesses shorter hair, left in a messy bob that frames her features, reaching to her neck. Additionally her bangs are pressed down by her Hollow mask, resting along the length of her nose.

They both wear a highly customised version of the Arrancar uniform, with minor deviations to set them apart from one another. They adorn a sleeveless white jacket with black trim and a high collar. The jacket is more form fitting at the top, framing their breast before becoming more baggy around the abdomen. The jacket is also slightly undone at the top, exposing their necks. They both wear a unique design on the top of their jacket, with Amadis' taking a bow-tie style design of three plates. A crude diamond in the middle, flanked by two wings, all painted in blue. Oriana is styled more like a regular tie, beginning with an angular segment that is framed by a pair of horn-like shapes and terminates into a series of arrowhead shapes at the bottom with three of such segments making up the main body of the design before ending in a fang-like protrusion that frames around where her belly button would be, beneath the jacket. They both wear long-sleeved gloves that end just past their elbows, feeding into a large half-circular plate on the outside of their arms. Both of their wrists are adorned with disk-like bracelets. They wear black high-heeled boots in the same style as other Arrancar in addition to thigh-high stockings, capped off with short pleated skirts. The skirt, sleeves and stockings are coloured blue for Amadis and red for Oriana, with all of their ornamentation being in white as is typical for Arrancar.

Their Hollow hole is present on their chest, but is otherwise hidden by their clothes.[1]

Plot[]

The DiamondDust Rebellion[]

Due to elements of the plot of the film, the events that took place would have happened after the revelation of the Arrancar but before Orihime Inoue's kidnapping, and subsequent incursion into Hueco Mundo.

Del Pluma (三咫烏玉雷 (デルプルマ), Derupuruma; Spanish for "Of the Feathers"; Japanese for "Three-span Crow of Jade and Thunder") is Amadis' Zanpakutō. The hilt is comprised of a thin white hilt that feeds into a wider cylindrical guard and pommel on either end, with each part marked by a simple dividing line that separates the pommel and guard from the hilt's core. The pommel has a long blue tassel attached, the same colour as Amadis' hair. From the guard emerges a long cord of whip easily multiple times Amadis' height in its length. While the whip is typically white, it turns black when Amadis courses her power through it. The tip of the whip terminates into a simple bulb-like shape. She is able to channel her power over lightning through her whip in order to bolster her strikes, or use it as a launch pad for a variety of electrical strikes. Additionally, even whilst her body is converted into its elemental form, she is able to manipulate her whip for attacks, and is able to create a secondary whip cord to lash at multiple targets. When the Zanpakutō is not in use, Amadis is able to store it in the headpiece on the back of her head.

  • Resurrección Its release command is "Shock the Skies" (震動がともって間で空, shindō ga tomotte ma de sora). Upon uttering the command, a deep blue burst of Reiatsu pulses out around Amadis, rising up from the ground, whilst a large burst of electrical energy builds along her whip. She spins the coil of her whip around herself before causing it to strike her, unleashing the pent up electricity on herself. As it streams off of her body, it appears to etch the parts of her released state into existence. Her jacket is opened, and the bowtie-shaped crest is removed, re-appearing in a shimmering silver over her chest, forming a breastplate of sorts. With her jacket unzipped, her Hollow hole is now exposed, nestled just below the breastplate. Her gloves are layered by a solid-looking armoured layer that has a line of solid feathers running down its length. Her stockings and boots are replaced by a pair of thigh-high boots that end in two sharp points, with the heel becoming more elongated like a claw, evocative of a bird's talons. Her headpiece turns so that the tip points downwards, and the cavity that would normally hold her Zanpakutō fills with lightning that streams out, creating a long trawling veil of energy behind her. At either side of her waist rest two large wings, maintained in place by two floating electrical spheres at the limb's beginning. The wings are made up of several segments, with each being larger than the one before, creating a ribbed design. Additionally they have a sharpened segment on top that further defines them. Each wing ends in a large hand made up of five blocky digits. The bracelets on her wrists are transformed into pulsating coils of lightning with two more appearing around her upper arms.
Resurrección Special Ability: In this state, Amadis' abilities and her control over lightning is bolstered greatly.

Oriana unleashes her Zanpakutō.

Cuervo (八咫烏炎羽 (クエルボ), Kuerubo; Spanish for "Raven"; Japanese for "Yatagarasu of the Flame Feathers") is the name of Oriana's Zanpakutō. It is made up of a white hilt that has a curved cylindrical guard, with a thin slender grip that ends in a curved pointed tip for the pommel that has a long red tassel attached. There are a pair of singular lines on either end of the grip, marking a division between the pommel and guard. The blade, emerging from the guard takes the shape of a small pointed needle. With her power over fire, Oriana is able to imbue her sword with flames, creating a much longer blade and giving it the ability to mold and manipulate fire as a medium for her. Though she most often uses it as a longsword, she can adjust the intensity of the flames in order to further augment, or even shorten, its reach at will. When her Zanpakutō is not in use, Oriana is able to store it in the headpiece on the back of her head.

  • Resurrección: The release command for Cuervo is "Alight the skies" (火がともって間で空, hi ga tomotte ma de sora). As she calls out the command, a large burst of orange-red Reiatsu explodes around her, beginning at her feet and travelling upwards as the flames around her sword grow wildly, losing their shape, before she turns the blade on herself, pressing it against her chest as if to self-immolate with her own flames. The fire flows over her body, coalescing at various points as the flames transform in to the parts of her released state. In this form, her jacket is opened to reveal the body beneath, with the red segment on top now removed and replaced with a white version of it now running down her body, with the central segment missing, revealing her Hollow hole. Her breasts are covered by a thin black bandeau. Her long sleeved gloves are replaced with white detached sleeves each with a sharp protrusion on the back of the elbow, while her exposed hands are now clad in silver claws over each finger, evocative of raptor talons. Her bracelets are replaced with rings of fire, with another set also appearing around her ankles. Her boots become adorned with an armoured outer section, with a line of hardened feathers running up the length, terminating where her stockings end. The headpiece on the back of her head turns to point its tip upward, and from the extremity where she would normally sheath her Zanpakutō, three flaming tails emerge, joining with her original one. Behind her a pair of large solid wings float detached from her body, with two radiant orbs of fire at the top, and each wing terminating into large blocky hands made up of five digits. The wings are segmented, with each segment being larger than the last, giving it a ribbed design.
Resurrección Special Ability: In this form, Oriana's natural abilities and control over fire are greatly augmented.

Trivia[]

  • The twins are named after characters from the chivalric romance, Amadis de Gaula. Namely Oriana, an heiress to the throne of Great Britain in the story, and Amadis, the titular character who courts her. Their surname is derived from that of Eugenia Errázuriz, the woman who paved the way for the modernist minimalist aesthetic in fashion.
  • Originally the pair were intended to have a feline theme like their leader, before being adapted for a bird theme instead. Amadis' Zanpakutō was Onza (異端豹 (オヌサ), Onusa; Spanish for "Snow Leopard"; Japanese for "Heretical Leopardess") while Oriana's was to be Breñero (敬虔豹 (ブレニェロ), Burenyero; Spanish for "Jaguarundi"; Japanese for "Devout Leopardess").
