Alice Ayako (アリス彩花, Ayako Arisu, literally meaning Noble Colorful Flower/Ancestor), her true name being Alice Fusō, known more commonly by her moniker the Doll Maker (にんぎょうし, Ningyoushi), was a beautiful and mysterious Shinigami of unknown origins who was formerly part of the Seventh Division prior to her eventual resignation and has an unstated history with the former Fusō Clan. Her abilities and moniker further imply that she is a member of the said clan but she is unwilling to disclose any information.

Hissori-Ningyou ( ひっそりにんぎょう, Still Doll) is the name of Alice Ayako's Zanpakutō. In its sealed state, the blade takes the appearance of a leather bound black Grimoire.
