We offer you the chance to partake in the trial run of a new organization. An entity composed completely of high-spec humans focused upon the protection and monitoring of the human world against supernatural threats. The letter continued. The black haired warrior laid on her bed, skimming over the long worded sentences that authoritative figures loved to abuse. A force hidden by the shadows....protect...preserve long guarded traditions...
"Traditions." She sighed. The young sword maiden looked over to her shinai which rested peacefully against her wall. She knew why she received this honor. After all, her parents were known guardians of this district. The Yamasawa household became a safe haven for injured Shinigami to rest and regain their strength after battle. At one point she'd rejoice in the chance to continue her family's strong connection to the supernatural. Still...every night she spent beating up hollows was a night she couldn't spend practicing for the upcoming internationals. And she hoped maybe...one day...the lady of the famous Yamasawa house might find herself a boyfriend. Of course she could always leave! People her age often had their own places and plans! Besides, she'd been training her younger brothers, they should be ready to enter the field by now! Perhaps-
The young lady jumped at the sound of light knocking. She turned to see her father staring at her with a wide grin. "So, have you decided your answer yet, Kurogawa?"
"The opportunity of a lifetime." She replied in her normal deadpan tone.
"Of several." He responded gleefully. "The envoy will return on the next full moon with more information and the required items. This signifies the beginning of a new life."
Kurogawa nodded. She watched her father leave with her usual empty visage. Eyes sharp enough to cut through the soul of the enemy. To deny it would be an insult to the Yamasawa household and everything they stood for. Balance. Protection. Tradition. She looked back to her shinai and then to the portrait of young woman only several years her senior. Takeko Nakano. A bright glare. The rays of the sun elegantly reflecting from the gold of a massive trophy. Next to it, the picture of three figures with one clad in the uniform of a successful Kendoka. A child whose hair, tied in a bun, revealed a face which resembled that of the two adults next to her. The picture rested against a diploma. One that signified the completion of the university of Kyoto's prestigious business course
"The beginning of a new life."
