The Sixth Division (六番隊, rokubantai), also known as Squad 6, is one of the thirteen divisions of the Gotei 13, headed by Captain Suzume Naomasa. Her lieutenant is Miria Fujibayashi.

Organization

Much like the standard Gotei 13 Division, the Second Division is structured like a traditional unit. The reigning Captain is supported in his or her duty by a single Lieutenant. There are also the standard twenty Seated Officers.

Special Duties

Although no special duties have been noted for the Sixth Division, the Division is noted for its strict adherence to rules amongst its members, thus making it a model division held in the same league as the First Division.  Suzume Naomasa has put together the Law Enforcement Unit in order to have an select group of individuals police the other members of the Gotei 13 by maintaining rules and suppressing any uprisings and unrest among shinigami. They also deal with any formal complaints and problems that may arise from disputes. 

Barracks

Like all the other barracks, the Sixth Division Barracks house the offices and living quarters of the Shinigami of the Sixth. Byakuya's former office was notable for having shelves of books lining its walls.The books have since been claimed by Lieutenant Ryan Kuchiki of the Fifth Division, while the offices where given to Lieutenant Fujibayashi.
