To be honest, I've no idea myself. Plot is rather vague in general with this incarnation of the FC, we seem to lack clear direction. Would be nice to clarify several things.

That RP is being disregarded. The Coven will be a part of the FC in a bit, but it is being actively formed within the RP events, as opposed to being some pre-existing thing. So basically, you can retain all the characters in the Coven you had, you just might have to wait a bit to use them.

If its completely disregarded then that kicks out the entire plot thread of my FC work and every character I've written for it. Everything I've posted so far links back to that RP -- Kenji, Van, their students, their hunt to unmask Hotaru as a spy, and their tasks during the intervening years.

As far as character deaths go and such (e.g. Kazuya), that stuff will probably have to be given a retcon explanation. I.e., the Ninth Division was attacked sometime in the last 15 years between the end of the canon and the start of the FC.

We could perhaps say that the attack was made by early detractors of the Coven, before the "Coven" was officially formed. (So like Kidou extremists, or something).

So basically, try to extract the plot events that directly relate to your character. The mass-scale Coven attack (so the "main" FC event) seen in that RP is what is being disregarded, timeline-wise.

Kazuya was indeed killed by members of the Coven in this incarnation too, and there might very well have been an attack on the Barracks as well. Most of the storylines might still work, they just need to be properly unearthed first as the Coven has not yet fully revealed itself for what it is.

The precise circumstances around Kazuya’s death though would probably be an assassination carried out by extremists loyal to the Coven’s cause. From my perspective, the Coven has been around for a while now, but its been biding its time and mostly kept to a very small circle of perhaps two to three individuals which are slowly laying the foundation of the Organization as a whole.

Hotaru might very well be one of these people, a mole within the Gotei 13, other such individuals would probably include Hikari Maebure and possibly Shijin assuming we still use him.

Here’s how I envision this storywise.

• Kazuya is killed in a manner very similar to what happened in Dawn of the Coven in an attack on the 9th Division Barracks. Sajin returns some time after and takes over after him.
• After several years of leading the 9th Division and possibly tutoring Hisagi in what it means to be a Captain, Sajin transfers to his current Division in order to allow Shuuhei to succeed him as the Captain of the Ninth.

That I can work with. I'll have to rename/reword a few things across my stories and iron out a few details, but so long as at least some of the goings-on are retained my stories and characters won't conflict with the greater FC.

Edit: Your explanations work for me, N. Have you anyone that could take the place of Megumi though? It was her that Kenji fought in Dawn. If I have a name its a simple matter of switching the focus of Kenji's hatred and vengeance from her to the new person.

Okay, how about this? "Dawn of the Coven" becomes "Assault on the 9th Division", the opening Haeded section of DOTC.

• As per N's post the 9th Division is attacked and Kazuya assassinated. Quick, flashy, and destructive. We don't have to say at this particular junction who did the killing, just that it happened.
• Kenji comes on the scene, having sensed Kazuya's death, but misses said assassin. In this scenario Megumi won't be his opponent but rather my own Sakae. Similar events occur to what happened originally, and Hisagi intervenes to save Kenji's live.
• Named character deaths, such as Takeji Yatsunishi, will have been caused by Sakae rather than Megumi.
• Kei's segment detailing the damage caused to the 9th Division barracks and how he sees a lone figure wreathed in flames.
• Hisagi leads for a time until Sajin returns.

If those points are retained -- having been tweaked -- and the assailants go unnamed then the origin point for my work remains solid.

Btw, we may still count Back From the Dead: Kensei Muguruma!? as a canon story. I don't think there are any plot-related issues with it, and I certainly haven't got anything against it myself.

Its fine. Couple of instances where I referenced the Coven that will need reworded slightly, but that should be it Saris.

Assault on the 9th Division (event).

This pretty much covers everything that needs to be retained to avoid any massive disruption to the stories I've already posted. I've included references to old forum posts that are still relevant, events that have been retained, and recent conversations alongside my own stories. Any mention of The Coven has been removed and N's Megumi has been replaced in the events by my own Sakae.

That's how things stand at any rate. Any concerns?
