Playing off of Void's comment on Shonen's blog, I wanted to make a couple suggestions for how we proceed.

The first thing is, Void's biggest point was that the Coven is frightening and powerful. Unbelievably so. And when it comes down to it, they're a united force. No matter what individuals are out there; Hiroya, Seireitou, Sakaala, et cetera. None of those individuals stand a chance against the united force of the Coven. Less so, the Gotei 13 doesn't stand the slightest chance even when together. So what does the Coven have to fear? Why need they be in hiding? And that's when I started to see a distinct parallel between them and the Saviors from TWD.

Now, if you know me, you know I like to bring up TWD a lot. And Negan too, since he's my favorite character hands-down. But what is important to see here is that the Saviors and the Coven are extremely similar. For one, they are a frightening force. They outnumber any of the individual communities in TWD, enough to force them to become subservient to their will. The Coven is the same way. They are superior when it comes to matching them up against any individual group or person. Similarly, in the comics, the Saviors and Negan were only bested when the communities came together to oppose his rule.

Another way they are similar is in their mission statement. Negan put it best. "We survive. We provide security. We bring civilization back to this world. We are the Saviors." In a way, the Coven also sees what they are doing as a holy call. They have tasked themselves with recreating the world in a way that it should be; where magic and those who master the craft of sorcery are at the center of everything. While the Masked Man and Negan are not very similar in terms of characterization, the way they rule and the goal they have is very similar in principle. They both see themselves as doing something right, something that NEEDS to be done.

Why am I making these parallels? Well, because we can draw inspiration from how the Saviors operate in TWD so decide how to have the Coven act. For instance, in the comics, Rick's group has a couple skirmishes with the Saviors, before his group was ambushed by Negan and hundreds of his men. Those who watch the show version of TWD know exactly how terrifying this scene was. This is usually how Negan does things. He forces communities to do as he wants by throwing his weight around, and even goes as far as to kill one of their group members in order to "make them understand right off the bat".

The Coven is far too powerful to be making idle threats. Now that the Gotei 13 has intentionally interfered with the Coven, as the result of the last RP, it shows that the Coven needs to make the Gotei 13 understand "right off the bat" how things are and how they will be. That they are no longer the dominant force. And that's what we need to do next. How exactly we do this, well, there's a number of ways, and I'd like to hear what everybody else thinks about this before we discuss it further. And also what ideas you'd have for how the Coven would go about this. An ambush of their own? A full-scale invasion of the Seireitei? Turning the 1st and 2nd Districts from every direction of Rukongai into zombies and perhaps teleporting them inside the Seireitei. Force them to scatter, and then Mages or Sorcerers, perhaps task groups, ambush individual Captains that have scattered about wildly to handle the threat. There's a lot of ways to handle this, and many ways to really establish the Coven as a true threat.
